“We Need a Comforting Voice”

Yesterday I was in Detroit, Michigan and was supposed to preach today for a couple of major churches in the city. I was also scheduled for some events on Monday and Tuesday and was booked on a flight to return late Tuesday night.

Then the yesterday afternoon the Holy Ghost arrested me and clearly said to me, “GO HOME”. The Lord spoke to my heart and said, “Your people need a comforting voice.” So, I immediately called the airlines, booked a ticket, got out of the preaching engagements and the scheduled meetings and came home to my wife, family, and congregation.

I’m glad I did. Today I stood before the people that I’m going to have to answer to God for. I am called to the people that call the Potter’s House International Ministries their home spiritually. I addressed the current tension in our country from Isaiah 40:1-5. God moved and many have flooded my email and inboxes with positive feedback and appreciation for my obedience to God in coming home today. Here is an excerpt from the message:

“We Need a Comforting Voice”
There is nothing more dangerous than to have disoriented, uniformed, and fearful people trying to speak for God in difficult times.
a. There is nothing more dangerous than for those who speak forComfort
God to try and do so when they are spiritually and emotionally
traumatized themselves by the current events of our times.

God needs a stable, clear thinking man or woman of God to feed the flock.
Isa 40:1 KJV
40 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

This word used for comfort is used in the scriptures as something that can take care of bad things. It is not used as something that can take the bad things away.

b. Comfort from God is not the elimination of bad things that happen.
When God comforts His people, He gives them the ability to handle what he won’t move.

c. So, when we are comforted by God it literally means that He
dries our tears so that we can see clearly.

We need to see clearly. We need a comforting voice. It’s not the time to incite riot or to toy with people’s emotions. GOD’S GOT THIS.

(Man, it’s good to be home.) Thank you, Potter’s House family keep up the good work.

so honored that you are the voice in my life…your obedience is astounding…reminds me not to seek responses, but to be relevant and desire results that prove that our lives have an impact on the Transformation of our spheres of influence…and to those to whom we’ve been commissioned and assigned…and honored to lead, by serving…

bless you sir…thank God for the unction of the Holy Spirit, the blood of Jesus, and the Love of the Father…
