Tonight was the opening night of our anniversary services. Today is my 37th wedding anniversary and the 27th of the church. My message tonight was entitled, “Stay with me, I need you.”
The message was taken from 2Tim 4:10 where Demas just up and left Paul with no warning and for no good reason. Paul is a spiritual father who understands that folk are in our lives for a “season”. Then there are some who come into our lives to commit high “treason”. Either way they come into our lives for a “reason”.
I reflected over my 27 years of ministry and thanked God for the people who have come and gone. Especially those who went A.W.O.L. I thank God for every relationship I’ve ever had, good, bad or other. It has helped me to become who I am today.
So many people like John Mark need to come home and start all over again. Paul was still working hard in his assignment for the Lord and said, I know John Mark left me years ago, but he is profitable to me now.
John Mark, it’s time to come home!
