I spent this past weekend in Chicago. They call it “Chi-raq” because of the number of shootings and killings they experience literally daily. Jacksonville does not compare to Chicago in practically any aspect of being a metropolis or major city. The two things that they do share in common are the NFL and these senseless shootings rocking Jacksonville! When I was in Chicago Friday and Saturday, you could feel a spirit of murder throughout the Southside streets. That same spirit has crept into Jacksonville. You can feel it.
We must take back our streets before it’s too late! This is ridiculous. This is so painful. If our hearts don’t break over the things that are happening we need to check our salvation. This is not a time for a photo opt. It is time for us to become relevant to the times. We are the church and as the church we have the power to deliver these thugs from themselves. I’m praying right now about how God wants me to act.
What are we going to do? Talk is cheap. These are our kids, Man this stuff hurts. WE GOTTA DO SOMETHING!!!
